This is an unusual doll from Suriname, a former Dutch colony in South America. Wearing traditional koto dress that was developed during the slavery period. Ladies wearing a koto are called kotomisi (misi means Mrs. or missis). Made of wood with wire in the arms. She is doing her laundry in a tub with a washingboard.
