These dolls are part of a series of more than 100 dolls, all dressed differently in authentic Dutch regional costumes, often carrying little attributes like baskets, flowers and so on. They are standing on their own brown plastic or wooden nameplates. It is a fantastic series and it is not easy to find them all.
A matching couple of dolls from the Twente region the Overijssel province in The Netherlands (Holland). Wearing every day working clothes, representing peasants. The female wears a red underskirt and is holding a broom. They are plastic dolls, standing on a one-piece wooden nameplate marked 'Twente'. The dolls heads and limbs are a bit wobbly and there is some paint loss to the woman's feet. Fine otherwise.
