This doll is part of a series of more than 100 dolls, all dressed differently in authentic Dutch regional costumes, often carrying little attributes like baskets, flowers and so on. They are standing on their own brown plastic or wooden nameplates. It is a fantastic series and it is not easy to find them all.
A Dutch male doll from Scheveningen, a seaside town in the Zuid Holland province in The Netherlands. Dressed as a fisherman or sailor. He wears a hand knitted fisherman's sweater and wooden clogs and carries an anchor on a rope. He is a plastic doll with eyes that open and close. Stand is missing but the doll is fine.
