Two male dolls from Hunnasgiriya in Kandy, Sri Lanka, made in the same style. The doll on the right is performing the most popular form of the Kandyan dances, the Ves dance. Originally the Ves dance was strictly done by men only but nowadays women also perform. Typical for the Ves costume is the sacred silver crown-like headdress. He is accompanied by a male musician playing a drum. Both are cloth over wire dolls with pressed material faces. Fixed onto wooden stands, with 'Hunnasgiriya' printed underneath. Cardboard with tin foil headdress is a little wrinkled, fine otherwise.
