Usually French Santon dolls represent the Provence region in France. But this beautiful matching pair is dressed in the traditional costume of the Normandie (Normandy) region in northwestern France. An older man and woman, for the most part made of pottery or clay, with arms partly made of wire to make them bend. The female is holding a coffee grinder and the male is carrying an umbrella. Mint condition but the checkered skirt has slightly yellowed here and there. They are unsigned so we don't know who the maker is of this attactive pair of dolls.
