A doll made of cloth over wire with a molded or pressed fabric face from Malaysia in south east Asia. Malaysia has three major cultures; Malay, Chinese and Indian. This doll is wearing Malay style clothing. She wears the Baju Kurung; a short tight-fitting blouse (modern kebaya) over a piece of fabric wrapped around the waist as a skirt (sarong). Similar costume is also worn in Singapore. She is fixed onto a wooden stand. Note the machine embroidered flowers on her blouse. The folded parasol and handbag add to her charm.
