Two dolls from Hungary, not a matching pair but both representing the Palóc people; an ethnic minority group living in north-east Hungary. The female is wearing the traditional costume of Hollóko and the male is from Kazár. Faces are made of pressed material with painted features. The rest is stuffed cloth. Interesting shape of the lady's headdress, decorated with little beads and fringes. She is holding a lace handkerchief. Her underwear consists of white cotton garments, a short and an underskirt which is lined with the same lace as her sleeves. That lace is a bit yellowed with age, as are her panties. Other than that both dolls are in great condition. They need help to stand on their own. Stands not included.
