This doll is part of a series of more than 100 dolls, all dressed differently in authentic Dutch regional costumes, often carrying little attributes like baskets, flowers and so on. They are standing on their own brown plastic or wooden nameplates. It is a fantastic series and it is not easy to find them all.
A Dutch doll from the Drenthe province in The Netherlands (Holland). She wears a long jacket over a skirt, both black with a little white dotted pattern. A white cotton underskirt with red stripes completes the outfit. Her bonnet is made of lace. Under the bonnet is gold paper to simulate the 'oorijzer', a helmet type casque. She is a plastic doll with eyes that open and close. Stand is missing but the doll is fine.
