This doll is part of a series of more than 100 dolls, all dressed differently in authentic Dutch regional costumes, often carrying little attributes like baskets, flowers and so on. They are standing on their own brown plastic or wooden nameplates. It is a fantastic series and it is not easy to find them all.
A Dutch doll from the Friesland province in The Netherlands (Holland), dressed in Sunday costume. She wears a long jacket over a skirt and an apron, all in black. A white underskirt and black stockings complete the outfit. Her bonnet is made of lace. Under the bonnet is gold paper to simulate the 'oorijzer', a helmet type casque. She is a plastic doll with eyes that open and close. Marked 'Friesland' on her stand.
