This doll is part of a series of more than 100 dolls, all dressed differently in authentic Dutch regional costumes, often carrying little attributes like baskets, flowers and so on. They are standing on their own brown plastic or wooden nameplates. It is a fantastic series and it is not easy to find them all.
This one is representing the village of Amstelveen in the Noord Holland province. Amstelveen is located near Amsterdam in The Netherlands (Holland) and was founded in a peat-winning region west to the river Amstel. The wooden sticks the doll is holding must have something to do with that. She is in traditional daily/working dress. She wears a long dark brown blouse over a black skirt with a pale brown apron. A red flannel underskirt completes the outfit. Her hat is is made of straw. She is a plastic doll with eyes that open and close, on a wooden stand without name. One round piece is missing from from the top of one stick, otherwise fine.
