Poppentopper.com is a shop for vintage national costume dolls from all over the world.
That's the short description. Quite formal, but hey, that covers it all.

Now the slightly longer one. Only slightly, because I don't want to bore you and keep you from shopping.
Poppentopper.com has beautiful dolls dressed in traditional ethnic clothing for sale. From far away places or just around the corner. And what makes it even more fun, behind every doll is a story. Learn about different people, cultures and traditions. Immerse yourself in fabulous folklore. But be warned, it's addictive! Very, madly.

Who
So that's poppentopper.com. Say it out loud. PAWP-pen-TAH-per dot KAWM. Right, okay, clear. You may think that's a bit of an odd name for an international shop. No way! Poppentopper is Dutch. Poppen means ‘dolls’ and topper is something like ‘you are the best’. Yay, I’m poppentopper! That's all well and good but who is poppentopper exactly?

Well, my ordinary everyday name is Josien Buijs. Speaking from experience collecting national costume dolls can lead to greater things. With more than 2000 pieces (no these are going nowhere) I have an overcrowded house, a personal website as doll showcase, a FaceBook group for identifying dolls and a professional webshop which is of course - drum roll - poppentopper.com!

Where
Poppentopper.com is based in the Netherlands. Webshop only, online since 2008. And I am proud to say that it's still one of a kind today. There is no other shop in the whole wide world that uniquely focuses on this type of doll. That's really something, isn't it? You must be soooo glad you found it. But wait, there's more.
