This is a black Creole doll from Suriname in South America, wearing traditional Koto dress that was developed during the slavery period. Ladies wearing a koto are called kotomisi (misi means mrs/misses). Her face is vinyl and the rest of her body is a harder type of plastic. The white fabric of her underskirt has slightly discolored with age but fine otherwise.
