Kotomisi Doll from former dutch colony


This is a black Creole doll from Suriname in South America, wearing traditional Koto dress that was developed during the slavery period. Ladies wearing a koto are called kotomisi (misi means mrs/misses). Her upper body is made of stufed cloth. She has no legs, just a foam cone shape for her lower parts.
